History is Made at the Butler Farm Show

Butler Farm Show HistoryIt all began with a simple plowing contest in 1947 and the rest is history. This seemingly insignificant event brought business owners, farmers, and city dwellers together in a way they had not previously experienced.

In 1948, Butler Farm Show, Inc. was formed in order to maintain the community vision that continues to this day. Over time, the board of directors purchased more and more land to host the event. At present, the grounds consist of 100 acres of land.

The Meridian Fire Company food stand, now a restaurant and trademark of the show, and a redesigned airstrip were fully established within 12 years of the show’s inception. Construction has steadily continued, and the Butler Farm Show now includes a full airport, milk house at the dairy complex, rabbit barn, and more!

Since the start, the Butler Farm Show has always been about education and cross-cultural exchange. Attendees, directors, and volunteers alike find these ideals keep thriving year after year.
