2018 Ford Fusion Review

Ford has long been known for producing vehicles with plenty of power and safety. However, the 2018 Ford Fusion also adds in a heaping helping of comfort for Pittsburgh, Wexford, and Zelienople drivers.

We here at Baierl Automotive can’t get enough of the 2018 Fusion, and we’ve written this car review just to show you why.

2018 Ford Fusion Performance Specs

When you choose the 2018 Ford Fusion, you’ll start out with the standard 2.5L Duratec 4-cylinder engine. Despite being something of a more compact powertrain, this engine still manages to produce 173 horsepower (HP) and 174 lb-ft of torque.

Of course, Ford is known for being a powerhouse. In the Fusion, you’ll have a couple more options across its trim lineup.

First, there’s the 2.0L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder, which produces 245 HP and 275 lb-ft of torque. However, if you have a true thirst for speed, the available 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 may be the right choice. It produces 325 HP and 380 lb-ft of torque.

You can even throw in the available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive System and 6-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission with this powertrain outfit. That’ll make for sharp handling and even smoother shifts—especially with the available paddle shifters.

Smart Safety for Your Sedan

The Ford Fusion has always been a sturdy car, built with rigid components and lined with a comprehensive airbag system.

Just take, for instance, the Personal Safety System™ in the 2018 Fusion. Not only does this system add in multiple bags for well-rounded padding, but it also includes occupancy sensors to protect your smaller passengers from undue harm from airbag deployment.

Multiple technologies are employed in the sedan to complement this structure, starting with AdvanceTrac® with Electronic Stability Control. This features boosts stopping power, wheel grip, and handling response to help drivers manage hazardous road conditions more easily.

If that’s not enough, the Fusion also offers numerous smart safety features. These available driver-assisting technologies, which utilize cameras and sensors to predict when collisions will occur and act autonomously to prevent them, include:

Ford Fusion Interior

In the cabin of the 2018 Ford Fusion, you’ll have 102.8 cubic feet of occupant space. That’s more than enough to accommodate five passengers comfortably. You’ll then have 16 cubic feet in the trunk for your cargo.

The Fusion features many standard conveniences. For example, you’ll have push button start, which allows drivers to fire up the engine with ease. You’ll also have the ergonomically designed rotary gear shift dial for stylish and comfortable shifting.

Of course, you can add in many more features as you move up in trim level. These available conveniences include:

On paper, these features all sound pretty interesting. But they’re a whole lot more fun when you experience them firsthand out on those Pittsburgh, Wexford, and Zelienople streets.
