2019 Honda Passport Review
Old fans of the Passport SUV will be happy to know that after 15 years, Honda has decided to reinvent this versatile vehicle. Having started production at the end of 2018, the Honda Passport is due for release during the first quarter of 2019, and our team at Baierl Automotive have started getting a few models in inventory.
Pittsburgh, Wexford, and Butler drivers interested in learning more about the revamped Passport should check out this inside the below 2019 Honda Passport review from our team. You’re sure to find something to get excited about!
When Is the 2019 Honda Passport Being Released?
With production having already started on the new Honda Passport at the end of last year, the model is making its debut in Honda model showrooms around the Pittsburgh area now.
This time around, the Passport comes standard with a 3.5L V6 engine. With that kind of powertrain churning up muscle under the hood, reaching an output of 280 horsepower should be a breeze, particularly with the help of a standard 9-speed automatic transmission.
If you intend to take this SUV off-road (and truly, that’s what it was made for), there are plenty of options to enhance your handling. Available Intelligent Variable Torque Management (i-VTM4™) all-wheel drive improves your wheel grip and agility, even if you’re traveling on a loose, rocky road or through snow.
Honda Passport Interior
There’s no need to pack light for your next journey if you’re behind the wheel of the 2019 Passport. Honda has redesigned this vehicle with space in mind, ensuring it’s a supremely comfortable fit for passengers and cargo alike.
In total, the new Passport has 115.9 cubic feet of passenger volume, meaning you can pack this five-seater to the gills with friends and family without sacrificing personal space.
In the back, there’s plenty of room for bags, including 2.5 cubic feet in a segmented underfloor cargo compartment. The underfloor storage (a best-in-class compartment) makes it easy to secure and stow personal items you may want to keep hidden.
Honda Passport Safety
Those of us looking for a little extra peace of mind safety-wise can appreciate a car that makes driver-assisting technology the baseline. In the Honda Passport, you’ll have the entire Honda Sensing® suite of safety features standard in every trim.
Honda Sensing® works by employing sensors and small cameras to monitor what’s happening around your SUV. If a hazard enters your path (or vice versa), this tech can sense it and take preventative actions. As part of this suite, you’ll have features like:
- Lane Keeping Assist System
- Forward Collision Warning
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow
